US Sentences Promoter of $3.4B Bitconnect Crypto Ponzi Scheme to 38 Months in Prison – Regulation Bitcoin News

The U.S. has sentenced a Los Angeles man to 38 months in federal jail for his position within the $3.4 billion Bitconnect crypto Ponzi scheme. Glenn Arcaro, 44, conspired with others to take advantage of investor curiosity in cryptocurrency by fraudulently advertising and marketing Bitconnect’s proprietary coin providing and digital forex trade as a profitable funding, courtroom paperwork confirmed.

The Bitconnect Ponzi scheme ensnared 4,154 victims from 95 international locations making it a real worldwide Ponzi scheme.
